The Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown

Welcome to the Virtual Home of the Roman Catholic Church in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.  The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is a  community of believers in Jesus Christ. As Catholic Christians, we believe in the covenant relationship resulting from God's love for us and our response to that great love. We are called to love God and to love one another.

Please browse these pages and learn about our parishes, our schools, our people, and the many ministries which we undertake to further the Kingdom of God on earth.

May the love of our Savior Jesus be yours always and may your journeys in cyberspace be peaceful and holy. For all space is God's space.

"GRACIOUS and LOVING GOD, in your divine providence, you have made grow in a
generous way the seeds of faith sown by your faithful servant, the REVEREND PRINCE
DEMETRIUS A. GALLITZIN, among the people of the Allegheny Mountains. May you
listen to his intercession for us, as we humbly beseech you to come to our aid. As a
result of his pastoral zeal, he brought us to your Son Jesus and to his Church. Pour out
your mercies upon us now and hear our prayer.

We pray that you lay your healing hand on (insert name of person or situation needing
intercession). May all be well according to your will.

As for us, we ask for the courage to live as your faithful disciples. May we do so in the
strength of your Spirit, in witness to Jesus, as did Demetrius when he preached your
Word and baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

God of mercy, God of strength, you protect and watch over your children. Your holy
priest, Father Demetrius Gallitzin committed himself to serve the Church. Through his
priestly ministry, thousands of the faithful were brought healing and strength in the name
                of Jesus Christ.

I now turn to you in my need  name your intention;  and ask that you hear and answer my
request through the intercession of Father Demetrius Gallitzin. This prayer is made
                through Christ our Lord. Amen
